1.28.3 on Mac "pygobject initialization failed"

I’ve done a standard install of the binary download on macOS Ventura 13.7.8 and this is what I see:

% gst-launch-1.0 --version

Though it is able to play media files. So can I ignore this message? What does it mean?

I should have mentioned, it’s the runtime version, not devel.
