Hello, I want to convert TV channels’ m3u8 broadcasts to mpeg1 and publish them on my site. Latency isn’t a concern, and image quality isn’t that important. Can I do this with Gstreamer? I used FFMPEG, but I experienced issues like freezing, lag, and disconnections after a while. Thank you in advance for your help and suggestions. Please forgive me if this is the wrong section.
In principle that is not a problem.
Did you check if those m3u8 play fine with gst-play-1.0 or another GStreamer-based media player in a recent version of GStreamer (i.e. one using playbin3 and the adaptivedemux2 plugin under the hood) ?
No, I haven’t tried this yet. First, I wanted to ask those of you who are more experienced than me. I’ve never worked with GStreamer before, so I’ll try it as soon as I learn how to do it.
